The 2018 Island Chill Suva Marathon was officially launched today with greater expectations from it organizers.
Marathon Secretary Marita Manley says their aim at the Suva Marathon Club is to stage a world-class event that attracts runners from around Fiji and the world.
Manley says they have also been supported by Tourism Fiji that will help bring in international runners and even before registrations were officially opened, the new Japan flight has seen a number of runners taking advantage of this.
The Assistant Minister for Health Alex O’Connor also officiated as chief guest at the signing of the naming sponsor agreement between Island Chill and the Suva Marathon 2018‑2020.
The full marathon is 42.2 kilometers and half marathon is 21.1km which will be held on the 21st of July.
