23-year-old goalkeeper Benito Waqavou is all geared up to fill the big shoes in the Rewa soccer team after the departure of top choice goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau.
Waqavou who is a former student of Nasinu Muslim College and now works at the Fijian Elections Office started his soccer career with Rewa club, Navuso Barbarians.
He forced his way in the Rewa team a few years ago but had to sit on the reserve bench on most occasions as Tamanisau was mostly preferred for the big matches.
However, Waqavou now has the opportunity to establish himself as a top goalkeeper as Rewa makes another attempt to win the League title for the first time.
Rewa will face League and IDC Champions, Lautoka at 3pm this Sunday at Ratu Cakobau Park in the Vodafone Premier League.
