Around 8,000 students have graduated under the various schemes on offer by the Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Board since its inception in 2004.

These was highlighted by the Chairman of the TSLB Board, Dixon Seeto.

Seeto says there are 14,000 active students under the Tertiary Educations Loan Scheme and around 1,800 who are benefitting from the National Toppers Scheme.

Seeto says an additional 630 will be awarded with the National Toppers Scheme scholarships and to date 594 recipients have been confirmed for 2018.

The Chairman says some of the major areas that scholarships are awarded in include Medical and Infrastructure.

Students who are eligible for the National Toppers Scheme can apply for scholarships in areas that include MBBS, Pharmacy, Oral Health, Dental Surgery , Physiotherapy, Nursing, Dietetics, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aircraft Engineering, Technology and Tourism studies.

The chairman has also urged the students to enroll on time so that their allowances can be paid on time.
