More than 2,600 rural community households around the country will soon see the dawn of a new beginning as they will receive the installation of a New Solar Home System.
The installation work will be carried out by CBS Power Solution who has been awarded the Tender by the Department Of Energy.
Director Department of Energy, Mikaele Belena says that the work will start as soon as the clearance is given by the Ministry of Economy.
The largest recipient of the New Solar Home System stated in the 2017/2018 Rural Electrification Project is Kadavu with 770 household, second in the list is Cakaudrove with 531 households while the Bua province is set at 307 households while other rural community will add up to the total recipient number.
The work is expected to boost the livelihood in rural communities and enhance their participation in business development and thus allow Students to extend their study periods especially in the night.
The total allocated budget for the New Solar Home System Project is $10,400,000.
The plan on where the work will start will be released as soon as the clearance is given by the Ministry of Economy.
