Two men have been sent to prison for killing a 40-year-old man in Nawaicoba, Nadi in 2014.
34-year-old, Mataiasi Ului who was convicted for a count of murder has been sentenced to life imprisonment and will have to serve a minimum of 15 years in jail before a pardon can be considered.
35-year-old Maikeli Loko who was found guilty for a count of manslaughter has been sentenced to three years imprisonment and High Court Judge, Justice Paul Madigan has fixed a non parole period of two years.
Ului and Loko were represented by Lautoka lawyer, Iqbal Khan.
Ului, Loko, Rakesh Kumar and Vinod Saegran were each charged with a count of murder four years ago however Kumar and Saegran were acquitted of the charge after the trial last week.
The four assessors had earlier found the four men not guilty of a count of murder however, Justice Paul Madigan later convicted Ului and Loko for a count each of murder and manslaughter respectively.
It was alleged that the 40-year-old deceased was practicing witchcraft against Rakesh Kumar and Kumar and his three workers assaulted him on 14th April, 2014.
