A 53-year-old truck driver of Talacake, Ba died following a motor vehicle accident last night.
Police have confirmed the incident occurred near Tau Village in Nadi where the victim is alleged to have lost control of the truck he was driving causing it to veer off road.
Police say the victim was transporting logs and as a result of the accident he was trapped inside the vehicle after which villagers managed to pull him out.
He was taken to the Nadi Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The road death toll stands at 7 compared to 10 for the same period last year.
