The Ba soccer team registered their first win of the Vodafone Premier League season after defeating Rewa 1-0 at Ratu Cakobau Park this afternoon.

The Men in Black were clinical from the first whistle and looked dangerous every time they came near the Rewa goalmouth.

Continuos pressure from Ba forced Rewa defenders to make some mistakes and they also gave away a number of free kicks in their own half.

Kishan Sami floated a well timed cross on the edge of the Rewa penalty box in the 31st minute of the first half and Abbu Zahid took a powerful shot which went into the Rewa goal mouth.

Ba led 1 nil at half time . Rewa made some changes in the second half where they brought players like Sairusi Nalaubu in their strike force, however the Delta Tigers could not break the Ba defense.

Ba now has 3 points in the VPL , and will face Labasa next weekend.

Winning goal scorer Abbu Zahid says they have improved.

Rewa now has one point and sits at the bottom of the points table.

Nadi leads the points table with 11 points.
