Paris St‑Germain forward Neymar has undergone a "successful" operation after fracturing his foot and spraining an ankle during Monday's Ligue 1 victory over Marseille.
A club statement said Neymar will begin rehabilitation before being assessed in six weeks' time.
Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said the 26‑year‑old is believed to be out for up to three months.
He expects Neymar to be fit in time for the World Cup in June.
But the £200m world record signing will miss the rest of PSG's season.
