The murder trial of four men charged in relation to the death of a 21‑year‑old man outside a fuel service station at Nakasi in 2016 started in the Suva High Court this morning.
Alipate Naimoso, Epeli Tucila, Saimone Tucila Snr and Saimone Tucila Jnr are each charged with a count of murder.
State lawyer, Meli Vosawale opened the case today by saying that Sitiveni Qali's life came to an end on 17th February 2016 after four men brutally assaulted him in the most inhuman way.
The first prosecution witness, Abjit Singh who is the IT Site Supervisor for Tappoo Group of Companies told the court that he was told by his Director that a murder had occurred outside their Nakasi service station and he has to extract the CCTV footage.
According to Singh, he extracted the footage on 18th February 2016.
Singh told the court that he extracted the footage and handed over the USB to Police.
He said the camera installed outside the service station was to see the movement of vehicles and activity of the attendants.
