Two former rugby league players will be featuring for the Flagstaff Rugby Club from Suva at this weekend’s 42nd Fiji Bitter Marist 7s.
The players are Inoke Buadromo and Orisi Drasu.
Buadromo and Drasu featured for the Suva City Storms in the FNRL Vodafone Inter‑Zone Competition last year.
Flagstaff team manager Samuela Loanakadavu says the two played for the Fiji Residents in the Battle of the Bati last year.
This is the first time for the Flagstaff team to participate in any local tournament and their coach who is also former national rep Sireli Naqelevuki is looking forward to showcasing some of his team's hidden talents in the two day tournament.
With an aim to develop young talent and seeking professional contracts, the side comprises of 22 to 26-year-old players.
The Flagstaff 7s team is pooled with Tuvalu, Pacific Island Air Yasawa and Saint John Namena Natovi.
The Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will be held on Friday and Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
