The National Fire Authority and Police have started their investigation to determine the cause of the fire on the second floor of the iTaukei Land Trust Board building at Victoria Parade in Suva last night.
NFA says that the Suva Fire Station received a fire emergency call and immediately responded at 6.50pm.
They say that upon arrival at 6.54pm, the fire team saw the cashier's room situated on level one of the building on fire.
NFA says that quick action by firefighters stopped the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.
Two fire trucks from Suva Fire Station were engaged to put out the fire.
