Vodafone Fiji has today handed over a $300,000 cheque to Fiji Rugby Union towards the build up of the 2018 Vodafone Vanua Championship.
FRU CEO, John O’Connor HAS confirmed that 16 teams will be taking part in the championship which will kick off on the 14th of next month.
The teams have also received training kits, rugby balls and $5,000 cash each from Vodafone and FRU to support their preparation.
There will be two pools whereby the winner will automatically qualify for next year’s Skipper Cup.
The winner will walk away with $10,000 while the runner-up will be given $5,000.
The top two finishers will also have a place in the Bainimarama Trophy Challenge later this year.
