The South Africa 7s team has left out many star players for the Hong Kong 7s tournament as they have named 5 uncapped players.

Interim coach Marius Schoeman says they certainly have a good mix of potential and experience in the squad and believes they will be competitive in Hong Kong.

Zain Davids is the most experienced players in the team with nine tournaments under his belt.

South Africa is pooled with England, Scotland and South Korea.

The South African team for the Commonwealth Games includes players such as Dylan Sage, Kwagga Smith, Werner Kok, Kyle Brown, Branco du Preez, Rosko Specman, Justin Geduld, Cecil Afrika and Seabelo Senatla.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team will play Samoa at 12.43am next Saturday in their first pool match of the Hong Kong 7s, we then play Russia at 5.54pm next Saturday and then take on New Zealand at 9.54pm next Saturday.

The quarterfinals will be held at 2.15pm next Sunday, semifinals will start at 7.41pm next Sunday while the Final will be held at 11pm next Sunday.
