Israel Folau's hamstring injury is set to sideline him for four weeks but the NSW Waratahs believe they have a weapon on the other wing, who's still getting better.

Wallabies star Folau was hurt in the early minutes of the Waratahs' Super Rugby win over the Brumbies last weekend.

Waratahs attack coach Chris Malone says Alex Newsome came will be their genuine option.

A big plus for NSW is the form of giant winger Taqele Naiyaravoro who scored two tries in each of their past two games.

The Waratahs will take on the Sunwolves at 5.15pm Saturday.
