The Water Authority of Fiji is working around the clock in conducting repair works and trying to normalize water supply in the Western Division.
The Authority has confirmed that water has been restored in 25% of the affected areas in Ba because there are more damages in Ba and more repair works are needed.
In other areas, there is 90% of water restoration in Rakiraki, 45%in Tavua, 97% in Nadi and 60% in Sigatoka.
The Authority has confirmed that they will be deploying water carts to the larger Elevuka area in Ba due to more demand.
Fijivillage have received calls from residents in Elevuka who are in urgent need of water for cleaning up and cooking purposes.
A resident of Elevuka, Shinal Prasad says that many houses along the area were badly affected by the flooding from the nearby creek and residents are trying to remove mud and debris from their homes.
The Authority has considered the settlements that need water in their list and they will be carting water later today.
The Water Authority of Fiji is urging residents from the Western Division to call them and request for water carting if they are experiencing water disruptions.
