The Fijian Elections Office has appointed Karyl Winter as the Deputy Supervisor of Elections for the conduct of the 2018 Parliamentary Elections.
Winter has significant experience in the management of elections both in New Zealand and as a technical team leader for the New Zealand Electoral Commission programme of electoral assistance to election management bodies in the Pacific.
She possesses 27 years of experience in elections and was a Returning Officer for many years and has been the Regional Manager for New Zealand’s South Island for two elections.
Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says Winter has extensive knowledge of the Fijian Electoral System and its processes which is a significant asset for the Fijian Elections Office for the 2018 General Election.
Winter is on secondment from the New Zealand Electoral Commission and says she is looking forward to the conduct of the 2018 General Election.
Winter adds that the New Zealand team has been working with the Fijian Elections Office over several years to help prepare to conduct this election and it will be rewarding to see all those plans in operation at election time.
