National Disaster Management Office Director Anare Leweniqila has confirmed that this number has increased from 536 last night.
In Lautoka, 128 people are in Lovu Sangam School, 133 are at Natabua Primary School, 35 are in Drasa Muslim Primary School, 54 people are in the Taiperia Church Hall, 26 people are in Desvandhu Primary School and 144 people are in Lautoka Primary School.
In Tavua, 80 people are at Tavua District School, 45 people are at Barotu Community Hall while a family of 6 is staying at the Nabatolu Hall.
In Ba, 83 people are now at Tuvu Primary School, 15 people are at Saint Theresea School, 8 people are at the Nasolo Village Hall while 56 people are at the Nawaqaru Village Hall.
Meanwhile there are 193 people in 6 evacuation centres in Labasa.
29 residents of Old People’s Home are in the Labasa Nutrition Centre, 48 people from Naodamu Housing are at the Housing Hall, 55 people from Vulovi and Cawaira Settlements are in Shri GuruNanak Khalsa Primary School, 12 people from the Batinikama area are in Batinikama College, 21 people from Vunivau Village are in Vunivau Hall, 28 people from Salusalu Street are in Holy Family Primary School.
Police are requesting people living in flood prone areas to move to safer grounds while there is still daylight.
