A man has been sentenced to two years and two months imprisonment for corruption related offences by the Suva Magistrates Court.
Krishna Murti pleaded guilty to two counts of obtaining goods by deception and two counts of dishonestly causing a loss.
Murti caused a loss of $1,430 to Building Sealant and Adhesive Limited between 25th August 2011 and 3rd September 2011.
Magistrate Waleen George stated that Murti did not make any attempts to pay the company for the goods ordered and uplifted.
She adds that Murti must be punished for his actions so that it can be a lesson for those who have the habit of dealing dishonestly with either companies or individuals.
A non-parole period of one year and eight months has been set.
