Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has urged the people of Tailevu to utilize their land well as the government has assigned $10 million to develop iTaukei land around the country.

Bainimarama has raised serious concern that this money has not been utilized well by the iTaukei community.

He says that this money has enabled them to build roads, conduct rural electrification, provide drinking water and encourage the small businesses which has helped villagers to support their families.

Meanwhile a number of issues were raised with the Prime Minister yesterday during the Talanoa Session in Nakelo, Tailevu.

Tokataka district representative Rusiate Korovusere had questioned Bainimarama on why the government is bringing in foreign labourers to work as sugarcane cutters as many youth in the Tokatoka district are unemployed.

Bainimarama then told Korovusere that the youths representative did not tell the government that they wanted to be canecutters.

The Tailevu Provincial Council meeting will end today.
