A 25-year-old man has passed away after he was allegedly electrocuted yesterday afternoon.
The incident occurred at Navatu Settlement in Naitasiri where the man is alleged to have touched a clothes line which had fallen on a meter box.
It is alleged that two children aged 3 and 5 were playing with the meter box outside a home belonging to a 23-year-old farmer, and it is alleged that they had then switched on the meter box just as the victim was touching the fallen clothes line.
The 23-year-old man tried to rescue the victim and was also allegedly electrocuted.
All four were rushed to the Vunidawa Hospital where the 25-year -old man was pronounced dead on arrival.
The remaining three were treated and sent home as investigation continues.
A post mortem investigation will be carried out to ascertain the cause of death.
