Three men charged with one count each of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, damaging property, theft and act with intent to cause grievous harm have been remanded in custody.

The alleged incident occurred at a grog shop in Nakasi last Thursday whereby five men armed with knives and timber forcefully entered the shop and stole cash, cigarettes and a mobile phone belonging to a salesman.

A team of officers that were conducting night operations arrived at the scene and were confronted by the group who allegedly attacked them by smashing the window of the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

An officer sustained injuries as a result of the attack.

The three men have been remanded in Police custody at the Totogo Police Station as they will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today to face more charges of similar offences committed in the Southern Division.
