The top 8 teams that have booked a spot in the quarterfinals of the New World IGA Suva Netball Association Knockout Tournament in the Open Women’s Grade have been confirmed.
After a long day of competition the teams that have qualified include, Lomaiviti Black, Wardens, Army, Congo Waimanu, Lomaiviti Green, Tagimoucia Flames, Cakaudrave, Bua, Macuata and USP Mermaids.
Suva Netball President, Gabriel Qoro has confirmed that the Open Mens grade 1st semifinal will be between USP Reefs vs USP Waves while the second semifinal that see Tagimoucia Blues take on Lomaiviti Dynamics.
He adds that following the completion of all the pool games Grasshoppers Gold will face Tagimoucia in the first semifinal of the Princess grade while Grasshoppers silver will take on newcomers Naitasiri Congo Waimanu.
Meanwhile in the Development grade semifinals, Grasshoppers Development defeated Cakaudrove, Bua, Macuata 9-7 while Tagimoucia defeated Lomaiviti 9-4.
Qoro says the level competition has grown and the finals will be very tough adding that this is the beginning of many more development tournaments to develop netball.
