Five people died in four separate road accidents last week with the youngest being a 7-year-old boy.
The road death toll stands at 24 compared to 20 for the same period last year.
In the most recent case, a 26-year-old man died after he was allegedly hit by two minivans in Ratu Mara Road on Saturday.
It is alleged that the man crossed the road from the Fiji National University side where he was hit by the first minivan after which he ran back towards the University and was allegedly hit by another minivan.
Investigations continue.
