Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber is acknowledging the commitment and humbleness of the players in the team ahead of the Paris 7s this weekend.

Speaking to World Rugby, Baber says it is his job to ensure that there is consistency in the team’s performance but it is the players who deserve credit for being committed to the team.

He says the players are humble and know who they are representing.

Baber says they have been taking risks all season and they will  have to continue to stay one step ahead of other teams this weekend.

Baber is now the most successful Fiji 7s coach in one season after the national side won the London 7s.

In the 2017/2018 World Sevens Series, Baber has led the Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team to win five tournaments.

This includes the Hamilton 7s, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Singapore and London 7s this year.

It is also Fiji’s fourth straight win in the series.

The Fiji Men’s National 7s team will take on Samoa at 8.50pm Saturday in their first pool match of the Paris 7s.

The national side will then face Kenya at 11.46pm on Saturday in their second pool match while the final pool match is against New Zealand at 5.14am on Sunday.

Fiji just needs to reach the final of the Paris 7s this weekend to win the World Sevens Series.
