Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s captain Jerry Tuwai has praised coach Gareth Baber’s commitment to bind the players together after the Olympic games and especially after Ben Ryan left.

Tuwai says there was a lot of expectations after Ben Ryan left but Gareth Baber has been teaching them everything to ensure they continue to play good rugby.

The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team just needs a third place finish at the Paris 7s this weekend to win the 2017/2018 World Sevens Series.

Fiji is in first place with 167 points and a third place finish will earn them 17 points and will take their total tally to 184.

A tournament win is 22 points therefore South Africa will get 182 points if they win the Paris 7s. This will not be enough to beat Fiji on the table.

Barring any upsets, they are likely to meet Argentina, USA or England in the quarterfinals.

They are likely to face Australia, Canada or Scotland in the semifinals and South Africa or New Zealand in the final.

Fiji will take on Samoa at 8.50pm Saturday in their first pool match of the Paris 7s.

The national side will then face Kenya at 11.46pm on Saturday in their second pool match while the final pool match is against New Zealand at 5.14am on Sunday.
