The National Secretary of Fiji Trades Union Congress Felix Anthony confirms he has no intention of standing in the 2018 general elections.

Anthony who led the People’s Democratic Party in the 2014 general elections could not make it into parliament and none of the members of the party made to Parliament as they did not have the minimum threshold of votes.

Anthony says he will continue fighting for workers’ rights with the FTUC.

Anthony adds they are pleased to see that some political parties are talking about increasing the minimum wage rate from $2.68 and the FTUC will look forward to these parties keeping their word if they come into power.
