The Prime Minister of the Papua New Guinea, Peter O'Neill will be arriving into the country this afternoon on his first official visit to Fiji since he was elected as the Prime Minister 2012.
The two day official visit will see O'Neill addressing the Fijian Parliament on the progress of preparations by his government for the hosting of the Asia‑Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Port Moresby in November.
He will also be the Keynote Speaker at a Public Lecture hosted by the University of the South Pacific at its Japan‑Pacific ICT Theatren tomorrow on the topic of "Pacific Regionalism".
Other programmes for the visit include a visit to the Fiji Police Special Response Unit to showcase the anti‑riot capability of the Fiji Police Force and a lunch hosted by the Fiji‑PNG Business Council.
O'Neill with his seven member delegation will arrive at the Nausori Airport at 4pm this afternoon and will be accorded a state welcome with a 50 men Guard of Honor.
The Prime Minister of the Papua New Guinea will depart on Tuesday.
