One notable initiative that will have a particular impact on the Nausori area is the specific allocation in the 2018/2019 National Budget dedicated to those living on un-surveyed land, many of whom have been there for 20 or 30 years.

This was the message from Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama at the Maha Devi Temple in Vuci, Nausori during their annual pooja ceremony.

Bainimarama says the government has now moved to cover the cost of conducting land surveys, which will allow more Fijians to formally obtain registered leases.

He says that this change will allow people to invest in the structures they can proudly call their own and use as collateral at banks.

Bainimarama further states that while the nation has broken economic records under his leadership, when it comes to building vibrant and inclusive societies, a government can only do so much.

Bainimarama further added that in the heat of the election year, some parties and candidates are openly encouraging people to vote along religious or ethnic lines.

He says that religion and ethnicity should never be exploited to sow division and hate.

Bainimarama says that it is an exciting time to be alive in the Nausori area and that he looks forward to continuing to bring the benefits of the nation’s unprecedented prosperity to each home, schools, and family.
