Year 13 student of Xavier College Simione Nabenu will be one of the players to look out for in the semifinals of the Inkk Mobile BOG this weekend at Churchill Park.
Nabenu played well in Ba’s midfield in the crucial match against Lautoka on Sunday and impressed fans with his steady game.
Nabenu is the son of former Ba defender Waisea Nabenu.
He had a big responsibility on Sunday night as he was assigned to stop an experienced striker, Osea Vakatalesau from launching attack on Ba.
Nabenu did well throughout the game and is expected to start again for Ba this Saturday in the semi-final against Nadi.
Meanwhile, Ba’s striker Maveliko Nakama has been suspended for two matches for committing a serious foul on Lautoka’s Pranil Naidu.
This means he will miss the semi-final against Nadi and will also sit out if Ba qualifies for the final.
However, Ba will have their top marksman Samuela Nabenia back from suspension.
Suva will play Labasa in the first semifinal at 2pm while the second semi final between Ba and Nadi will start at 4pm Saturday at Churchill Park.
The final will be played at 3pm Sunday at Churchill Park.
