The Fijian Elections Office has formally received another four Mahindra Scorpio vehicles that is funded by the Indian Government.

While speaking at the handover ceremony, Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says that these vehicles were bought from the $224,000 cheque that was handed over to them earlier in the month.

He says that these Mahindra vehicles will help in transportation which is the unique feature of elections.

Saneem says the vehicles are designed to handle some of the road conditions in the interior as the vehicle is very strong and reliable.

He says so far the Fijian Elections Office has now received 14 vehicles from the Indian government.

The India High Commissioner Vishvas Sapkal says that they are proud to assist Fiji in their preparation to the General elections especially in strengthening Fiji’s democratic process .
