A 49-year-old man from Vuda, Lautoka is admitted at the Lautoka Hospital in stable condition after he was allegedly hit by a bus.

Police say the victim was allegedly drinking with friends yesterday morning when he wanted to stop a bus and went onto the middle lane and was hit by a bus.

The victim sustained injuries and was taken to the Lautoka Hospital where he remains admitted.

Meanwhile, two children are admitted at the CWM Hospital following separate accidents on Friday.

The first incident involved a 14-year-old boy of Kalabu who was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by a taxi driver in Nasinu.

The victim is alleged to have suddenly ran onto the middle of the road when the accident occurred. He sustained injuries but is in stable condition.

In the second incident, a 11-year-old student of Tacirua was hit by a vehicle after he allegedly crossed the road from behind a parked bus.

The victim is also in a stable condition as investigations continue into both cases.

Police say as focus has primarily been on driver behaviour on the roads they are also requesting members of the public to look at their roles as pedestrians as they have recorded three accidents involving pedestrians.
