Marist Brothers High School’s U19 and U15 teams have qualified for the semifinals of the Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championships as they remain unbeaten heading into the final day of competition.
Marist U19 will take on Tilak High School at 1.10pm this afternoon while Yat Sen Secondary School will meet Saint John’s College at 12.30pm at the FMF Gymnasium.
Marist U19 Coach Manoa Puamau says that the U19 had fallen short in the Secondary Schools Home and Away Games to Yat Sen Secondary School but they are working on improving their game.
Marist U15 have booked their spot in the semifinal and will take on International School Suva while Yat Sen Secondary School will face Swami Vivekananda College.
In the U17 boys competition, Gospel High School will face Yat Sen Secondary School in the quarter-finals at 8.30 this morning at Ed’s Court.
In other U17 quarterfinals, QVS will take on Marist Team 2, Marist Team 1 will face John Wesley College while Natabua High School will meet International School Suva in the last quarterfinal.
In the girls division, in the Under 19 grade Suva Grammar School will take on Saint Joseph’s Secondary in the first semifinal while Yat Sen Secondary School will meet Tilak High School.
Suva Grammar School will meet Yat Sen Secondary School while Saint Joseph’s Secondary will face Saint John’s College in the U17 semifinals.
Meanwhile in the U15 girls final, Suva Grammar School will take on Yat Sen Secondary School at 1.50pm.
The Under 15 boys semifinals and the U17 boys quarterfinals will both start at 8.30 this morning at the FMF Gymnasium and Ed’s Court.
