The dream of villagers of Draubuta in the North East of Sigatoka to have proper road access will soon become a dream come true.

The Fiji Roads Authority is nearing the completion of the construction of the 1.8km road in Draubuta.

Draubuta village spokesperson Sireli Marua says villagers have in the past struggled due to lack of proper road access as school children have to leave home every Sunday to a nearby village to attend school and return home every Friday afternoon after school.

FRA says the new access road will make a big difference to the villagers and will ensure that schools, health services and other facilities are within reach.

The 1.8km road project started in early February and is anticipated to be completed by October this year.
