Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says to be able to carry out research, we have to have a open-mind about it.

While speaking at the opening of the Pacific People’s Research Skills Symposium organized by USP at Holiday Inn, Sayed-Khaiyum told the participants that they can beholden to any particular position even before they start the research.

Sayed-Khaiyum says that many academics in Fiji fall for this.

He says that analysis in Fiji is kind of beholden to personalization and also unfortunately driven by ethnicity

Sayed-Khaiyum told the participants that he thinks that research requires that they break down the walls within themselves.

He adds that if they are able to do that then they can say that they are quite liberal in their thinking.
