The Loloma project by the Ministry for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation in conjunction with the Fiji Police Force will continue despite the various reasons people keep going back to live in our streets around the country.
This has been highlighted the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa when asked on the progress of the project in regards to senior citizens that are living on the street.
Vuniwaqa says that every now and then the Ministry makes a sweep on the street, however some people kept going back.
Vuniwaqa has also confirm that many senior citizens that were living on the streets have been provided a place to stay at various Government Care Homes around the country.
Fijivillage has witnessed this during a recent visit to the Samabula Home a few weeks ago.
