An Air Niugini aircraft had to abort take‑off yesterday amid an engine failure.

EMTV reports that PX9260 was being chartered by Papua New Guinea's Department of Finance for a flight to Kieta in Bougainville.

PNG's national carrier has yet to issue a statement on the incident.

However, it comes less than a week after the crash‑landing of an Air Niugini 737 airplane into a lagoon in Micronesia, an incident in which one person died.
