A man in his 50s has passed away following a road accident in the Northern Division last night.
Police say the victim while crossing the road near Vulovi along Labasa’s Wainikoro Road was hit by a taxi driven by a driver in his late 20s.
The victim is from Vulovi village.
Police say the driver was allegedly traveling at a very high speed when the incident occurred, however this is subject to investigations.
A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
The road death toll stands at 58 compared to 51 for the same period last year.
