Hundreds of people pushed their way towards the Suva Market in the last hour just to try to get a glimpse of the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle who toured the market this morning.

Market vendors at the Suva Market were in continuous song and  decked out in blue this morning prior to the arrival of the Duchess.

People around Suva City including workers from the Kings Wharf Suva Bus stand and the Suva Handicraft Centre gathered in the Suva heat and continued in jubilant cheer just waiting to get a glimpse of the Duchess who was ushered on a 10 minute tour of the Suva Market.

Prior to her tour of the Suva Market the Duchess Meghan Markle was hosted to tea by the British High Commissioner where she was able to meet with different Women’s Groups.

Earlier this morning students of the University of the South Pacific had lined up along the roads within the USP Laucala Campus upon the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Prince Harry also spoke in his capacity as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador and Meghan Markle also said a few words.

Students of Veiuto Primary School, Stella Marist Primary School, Sacred Heart College and Saint Marcellin Primary School lined up along Queen Elizabeth Drive to catch as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their way to USP.

Earlier this morning the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry visited the War Memorial on Vuya Road in Veiuto and laid a Wreath before meeting with a number of Fijian war veterans, some of whom served with the British Armed Forces.                     

A minute of silence was observed to remember our Fijian war veterans that lost their lives during the call of duty.

Members of the disciplined forces were also present at the Wreath laying ceremony including RFMF Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto and Police Commissioner, Sitiveni Qiliho.

The final public engagement will be at the Nadi International Airport on Thursday morning where the Duke will unveil the statue of Sergeant Talaiasi Labalaba.
