Former Fiji 7s and former Fiji Bati player Jarryd Hayne allegedly bit the woman accusing him of sexual assault causing severe bleeding that required medical attention, according to reports revealing new details about the case.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports the former Eels star was heavily intoxicated on NRL grand final night when he travelled by taxi to the house north of Newcastle where the woman lived with her mother.

He allegedly sexually assaulted the 26‑year‑old, ripping off her clothes and biting her private parts causing severe injuries.

The woman’s mother was home at the time of the incident.

Hayne was charged with aggravated sexual assault and inflicting actual bodily harm after handing himself into a Police Station on Monday where he spent 10 hours.

The former NRL star was allegedly drinking in the Newcastle or Central Coast area on the Sunday night before he travelled by taxi to the woman’s home, allegedly telling the taxi to wait for 20 minutes before returning to Sydney in it.

He has a number of strict bail conditions, including reporting to police three times a week and posting a $20,000 surety.

He is yet to make a statement on the record to police.
