The case of the 18-year-old man who is charged with a count of aggravated robbery has been transferred to the Suva High Court and will be called on the 6th of next month.

Osea Lawedua who is an unemployed from Nakasi is alleged to have stolen a mobile phone worth $500 from a man on the 17th of this month outside a nightclub in Suva.

Lawedua was also refused bail on the grounds that the offence he has been charged for is an indictable one and was also told to apply for bail in the Suva High Court.

It is alleged that the complainant in the case had decided to go out clubbing with a group of his friends which included a FijiFirst Party Agent.

The complainant was walking along Victoria parade when Lawedua with others allegedly attacked the complainant and his friends on the road.

It is alleged that Lawedua with others later snatched the complainants phone valued at $500.

It is also alleged that one of Lawedua’s accomplices swore at one of the complainants friend’s grandfather who is the current Prime Minister.

It is alleged that the complainant and his friends had called for help but no one came to assist them.

Police say investigations remain open in this case.
