A military officer appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court today for allegedly assaulting his wife.

The 24-year-old has been charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.

He allegedly assaulted his wife in the early hours of Saturday morning in Delainavesi.

A domestic violence restraining order has also been issued by the court.

Magistrate Waleen George has remanded him in custody and the matter will be called again on Friday.
