Fire fighters were able to contain the fire along Salim Street in Nakasi that completely destroyed one house and partially damaged three other houses close by.
This has been confirmed by National Fire Authority CEO Manasa Lesuma who says that firefighters are currently at the scene to extinguish any remaining burning amber.
Lesuma has also confirmed that the homes were vacant at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries.
He says that investigations into the cause of the fire will begin tomorrow.
The National Fire Authority deployed two fire trucks to the scene.
