Chelsea begin the year searching for more consistency than 2018 often brought as they face Southampton in the English Premier League this morning.

Chelsea who are fourth on the points table have won the past seven meetings in all competitions, scoring two or more goals in six of those games.

Southampton who are placed 17th are aiming to avoid a third consecutive defeat.

The team is winless in 15 English Premier League away fixtures against the teams who finished in the top six of the table last season.

Chelsea will face Southampton at 8.45 this morning.

In other matches at the same time, Bournemouth will face Watford, West Ham will face Brighton and Wolves will face Crystal Palace. 

Manchester United will face Newcastle at 9am.
