United Blind Persons of Fiji today received a cheque of $5,000 from HFC Bank as one of their major associate sponsors for their National Disability Awards Night.
HFC General Manager Finance Rajnesh Deo while handing the cheque highlighted that this is part of their community building responsibility that HFC bank has always been part of.
Deo says that this Awards Night is milestone event for United Blind Persons of Fiji as this award is not for only those that are part of this organization but for the whole disabled community.
Disability Gala Awards Night Event Committee Chairperson Rajnel Prasad says this is the first ever National Awards for disabled persons and they are making plans to have this event annually.
Prasad adds HFC will be sponsoring the Senior Management of the Year Awards where he revealed the winner will receive $1,500 prize money and also attending training and workshops.
Prasad adds the alternative funds will be used for the social welfare of their members.
Prasad has also urged members of the disabled community to apply for these awards and be recognized for the works that they have contributed for the community and the economy.
The National Disabled Awards will be held on the 9th of March at Holiday Inn in Suva.
