Three Ba soccer players have given their statements to the Fiji Football Association in regards to allegation of assault by National Coach Christophe Gamel.
Fiji FA’s President Rajesh Patel says Amena Bolaitamana, Kalaveti Sivoi and Kini Madigi gave their statements yesterday and they are now waiting for Simione Nabenu to give his statement.
Ba Soccer President Rishi Kumar says Nabenu has a death in his family and will go to Fiji FA soon to give his statement.
These players who were part of the Fiji Under 23 trials are standing by their claims that they were allegedly assaulted by Christophe Gamel.
Nabenu has even claimed that National goalkeeper coach Xavier Henneuse and other Fiji FA staff like Marika Rodu and Anushil Kumar were present in the room when the alleged incident occurred.
The President of the Fiji Football Association, Rajesh Patel has made it clear that the Fiji FA will not ask any person to step down nor will it terminate or suspend an employment based on media reports and allegations alone.
Patel says Gamel has been interviewed and he has denied assaulting or abusing any players.
