Asif Ali who is charged with the theft of $17,792.40 has been remanded in custody by the Suva Magistrates Court.
He is charged with one count of theft and one count of causing loss. Ali is alleged to have stolen the money from his employer Gold Hold Seafood Limited between 24th July to 17th October last year.
Magistrate Liyanage Wickeramasekara has adjourned the matter to next Monday so that Ali can provide a proper surety. The two sureties he presented before court today were not suitable for the Magistrate.
