A summit between Donald Trump and the North Korean leader Kim Jong‑un ended without agreement after the US refused North Korean demands for sanctions relief.

The pair had been expected to announce progress on denuclearisation.

Speaking at a news conference after the summit, in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, US President, Donald Trump says no plans had been made for a third summit, but he expressed optimism about a "good outcome" in the future.
