It has been a tough start to the year for the Hurricanes, who needed a late charge to beat the Waratahs in their opening fixture before being dealt a loss in Christchurch by the Crusaders.

However, with the return of a number of veterans and All Blacks, the side head to Palmerston North to take on the Brumbies with a more experienced and stronger squad.

Beauden Barrett will make his first appearance of the season, taking his regular spot in the No.10 jersey alongside halfback TJ Perenara, while younger brother Jordie has been left out of the squad.

The Hurricanes will face the Brumbies at 6.35 tonight while the Highlanders will take on the Rebels at 8.45 tonight.

Tomorrow the Chiefs will take on the Sunwolves at 6.35pm while the Crusaders will play the Reds at 8.45pm.

The Lions will take on the Bulls at 1.05am Sunday, the Sharks will face the Stormers at 3.15am while the Jaguares will meet the Blues at 9.45am Sunday.
