Diving participants of the Fiji Dive Fiesta were thrilled the by their experience when they were showcased to some of Fiji’s spectacular dive sites.
A total of 16 dive agents and media from Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, China and North America experienced some of Fiji’s world‑renowned diving sites that include the Cabbage Patch, a prehistoric coral dive site along the rainbow reef, the Great White Wall in Taveuni and Savusavu.
These diving sites were voted as one of the top 10 dive sites in the world.
One of the participants, Pierce Hoover from Caradonna Adventures in the US says aside from the wonderful underwater experiences, the most treasured memories he takes home are the incredible warmth of the Fijian people and after one short visit, he already felt like family.
Tourism Fiji Niche Experiences Manager James Pridgeon says it was a pleasure to be able to showcase some of Fiji’s best dive spots to international media and trade partners and the feedback from visitors has been overwhelmingly positive.
He says apart from the world class dive sites and beautiful resorts, having guests experience Fijian culture has enriched their understanding of the destination.
Pridgeon says they are excited about the outcomes of the Fiesta and is looking forward to continue working with their trade and industry partners to grow the dive market.
The event culminated on 22 March with a Dive Expo at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on Denarau at which renowned explorer, environmentalist, educator and film producer, Jean Michel Cousteau gave a keynote address.
