It was an activity filled day for pensioners as the Fiji National Provident Fund organised a day for retired pensioners and their families to engage with one another.

Around 200 pensioners, today attended the first ever Pensioners Day held at the Grand Pacific Hotel, to honor those who come up once a month to collect their pensions.

FNPF Chief Executive Officer Jaoji Koroi says there are about 7,000 pensioners in the country.

The participants of this event were thankful to FNPF for providing this platform for all pensioners to meet and get to know each other.

There were board and card games for the senior citizens present to engage in and feel relaxed.

Renowned local singer Jese Mucunabitu provided music and cheer to entertain everyone while some joined in a kava session.

To support this gesture by FNFP, officials from the Ministry of Health, Pure Fiji and chiropractors from USA were present to provide free dental and eyes check-ups, general body check-ups, massages, manicure and pedicure.
